Boavista Golf Course opened on 1 January 2002. The impressive 18 hole Championship golf course has been designed by Howard Swan, past president of the European institute of Golf Course Architects. His philosophy to create a course as if it has always been there. Boavista offers superb facilities in a uniquely sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere.
Espiche Golf Club ('Espiche') opened its doors to members and guests in January 2012.
This gently undulating 18 hole par 72 course blends into the Algarve landscape. Its lakes, streams and indigenous planting add to the enrichment and biodiversity of the area. The aspects are exceptional, surrounded by open countryside and vineyards with views to the Monchique Mountains in the distance. The close proximity to Luz and Lagos offers a very special location.

Some say that this is the jewel in the crown of the Algarve. Some say the landscape is unique. Some make it a must on their Algarve golf tour. We are speaking, of course, about Palmares golf course. The Frank Pennink designed course enjoys a beautiful location, near to the historic city of Lagos, commanding magnificent views of the bay of Lagos and the distant Monchique hills. During springtime, the fairways and hills are covered with the flowering shrubs. There are five Link holes before playing through gentle hills.

Parque da Floresta is situated near the fishing village of Salema, about 16 kilometres west of the town of Lagos close to the Costa Vicentina nature reserve. The golf course was designed by the famous Spanish architect Papa Gancedo. It is a hilly course, with sharply sloping fairways, several blind shots, and greens on hill tops perfectly integrated into the landscape. It is a challenging course.

Previously The Penina, but known as the Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, the main 18 holes provide the most demanding test of a player's skills in the Algarve, if not in Portugal. The holes are crossed and flanked by a series of streams, ditches and water hazards, demanding precisely executed shots. The course is beautifully maintained. Also there are two 9 hole courses The Penina Academy and The Penina Resort
Alamos opened just recently which makes it one of the newest in the Algarve. Lying to the north of Portimão it is laid out as a neighbour to its sister course Morgado. The setting is a large 980 hectare estate through undulating small valleys. The immediate main characteristic factor is its large greens which place demand on good putting skills as they are often raised above the fairway approach and involve several levels.

Nick Price, the former world Nr.1 player, has teamed up with golf course architect, Ronald Fream, to create a uniquely designed 18 hole course with 27 varied greens that enable the golfer to play the same course several times with different greens and new challenges. The design technique has positioned the greens and protective bunkers so that an 18 hole round is a genuine challenge.
Morgado is one of the new courses to open in the Algarve. Lying to the north of Portimão it is laid out in a large 980 hectare estate through undulating small valleys. The immediate main characteristic factor is its large greens which place demand on good putting skills. Also, the accuracy of the player's shot will be questioned by deep aggressive bunkers. A further 18 hole course is already in the planning stage.
Designed by Nick Faldo, with strategic play in mind, this course demands careful positioning to score well, rocky outcrops, meandering watercourses and views to the distant mountains and orange groves defining its essential character.
Perfectly complementing the Faldo Course, whilst taking advantage of the rich valley soil, in contrast to the arid hillside, this course offers no less of a challenge, requiring accurate play.
Silves is a serene spot, but the course is anything but the proverbial walk in the park. Target golf reigns supreme. A drive at the opening hole has to flirt with two water hazards on both flanks. Silves encourages and rewards attacking play. It has a natural beauty and an elegant design. The excellent condition, all year round, is ideal for low scoring. A relentless test in precision, this course has no peers. It is the 'archetype' of man-sized parkland golf.

The Pinta Course is one of the best-designed courses in Europe. It is a Championship course with an exceptional layout designed by the famous American golf course architect, Ronald Fream, and inaugurated in 1992. It has earned a deserved reputation for the outstanding level of maintenance of the course, and its design, which makes it a challenge to golfers of all standards. The Pinta Course was 5 consecutive times host to the Seniors Tour.
The true test of any golf course is measured by requiring a player’s ability to control shot length and direction. This 9-hole par-3 course optimises these demands. With holes ranging from 58 metres to 160 metres, the ability to hit crisp approach shots and to pitch and putt well, are the secrets of good scoring on this very attractive and manicured course.
Laranjal is Quinta do Lago's newest of it's 3 18 hole chanpionship courses. Formerly an orange grove, today it is a beautiful and totally different golf experience. It is a sanctuary for those seeking the finest in golf and personalized service. Its narrow fairways and well defined greens require concentration and accuracy to navigate this testing route laid out on a rolling and distinctive terrain.

Laid out over low-lying coastal terrain, this course, with its many water hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones at the resort and many of its holes convey a links atmosphere. Apart from the lakes and an impressive total of 79 bunkers, another hazard is the wind that frequently blows over this somewhat exposed location.
Millennium is surely one of the most beautiful golf courses ever built in Portugal. This is especially due to its excellent positioning in the surrounding landscape, to the investment made in forestation and landscaping and to the quality and diversity of the course itself, resulting from the extreme care taken in its design and building.
Often described as the Grande Dame of Algarve courses, it meanders throughout impressive pinetrees - the principal hazard - over gently undulating natural terrain. Although it opened in 1969, the course was completely renovated and modernised 27 years later although no major changes were made to the magnificent layout.

This was the second golf course built in Vilamoura. Several refinements were incorporated over the years. It is typified by rolling parkland terrain covered with numerous umbrella and Atlantic pines that line many of the fairways and a few even stand out on fairways or near greens. Ponds and a stream come into play on five holes but are not serious threats to above-average golfers.
The previous owners invested 18 million euros. This was the most ambitious golf project in Portugal, and was aimed at being one of the best golf complexes in the whole of Europe and making it ideal to became the Algarve's and Portugal's major venue for top international tournaments.

Located within the well-known Quinta do Lago estate, Pinheiros Altos Golf Course enjoys a solid reputation. Within the golfing world it is known as providing a mental challenge due to well placed hazards. Bordering the 18,300 hectares of Natural Park of Ria Formosa which provides a habitat for many species of birds and has much interesting vegetation.
The terrain is superb and typical of the area, sandy and littered with umbrella pines trees. In the spring, the rough is covered with a blanket of wild flowers, heather and gorse. The bunkering is incomparable, both on the fairways and surrounding the greens and gives the course an advantage over many of similar quality and design.

It has also hosted many large professional and amateur championships. The favourite of many tour players, this course offers the possibility to hit the greens in regulation in several ways.
Situated in one of the best-known regions of the Algarve, between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra, Salgados is already a 'postcard' of Portuguese golf. In fact, the proximity of the sea and the variety of lakes make this a very interesting test of golfing skills, different from other courses in the Algarve.
The compact 9-hole golf course is surrounded by magnificent old pine trees and requires a precise game. World famous 'devils parlour', a challenging Par 3 crossing the cliffs, offers breathtaking views to the near Atlantic Ocean. The Pine Cliffs golf course provides a well equipped golf academy.

The course is undulating but not hilly. The views of the mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South are stunning.
The Atlantic Course has been designed to give pleasure to any level of golfer. The challenging aspects of the course, whilst providing interest to the expert, are also a test to the ability of the average handicap golfer and yet remain pleasurable to both.

The first of two 18-hole golf courses extends itself in a spectacular location on the coast of the eastern Algarve, known locally as 'Sotavento'. Quinta da Ria, situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, has already been described by experienced golfers as the most breathtaking golf course in the Region.
Eighteen holes skilfully scattered by an area of 620.000 m2, the Cima Course show themselves very competitive with dog-legs to the right and to the left and greens well protected by sand hazards and lakes. A stream with dams and permanent flowing water crosses holes.
Severiano Ballesteros has created a highly attractive course which is characterised by various levels of difficulty that will be a challenge to beginners and test the skill of more experienced players.
