Its high position means there are super sea views from the upper balcony as well as some sea view from the lower pool area. The centre of Luz with all its shops, restaurants, and lovely sandy beach is about a 10-12 minutes walk away, and much nearer than this is a small supermarket and a selection of restaurants/cafes. Car hire, although recommended for seeing the sights and visiting different beaches, is not essential when staying at this villa, and many clients manage perfectly well without.

No. 14 is situated on the Quinta da Belavista estate on the hillside just above the town of Luz. The house is set in it’s own grassed garden. Luz is a busy and popular holiday resort with all the shops, bars and restaurants you would expect, plus the gorgeous sandy beach. It is possible to walk down to the town and beach in about 15 minutes, but to be honest the walk back would be rather hard work! We strongly recommend that you hire a car when staying at this property.

These rates are reduced for 2010 Casa Bouganvillea is an attractive villa in the western residential district of Lagos within easy reach of the town centre and all the surrounding beautiful beaches. It is about a 20 to 30 minute walk, or a short bus ride, to the centre of the historic town with its cobbled streets and pavement cafes and the colourful market square. The golden sandy beach of Meia Praia is also a 20 to 30 minute walk, where there is a variety of water sports available. Palmares Golf Course, Boavista and Penina Golf Course are a 5 to 10 minute drive away. For the children there are a variety of water parks and theme parks within a 30 minute drive. There are several restaurants and bars within 3 or 4 minutes walk but a car is recommended to take in all the sights and to go to the beaches.

It is situated in the very heart of the beach town of Praia da Luz, just a few minutes walk to the lovely Blue Flag sandy beach of Praia da Luz. Luz has a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars, plus bank, hairdressers and discotheque / club. There are tennis courts for hire at the Luz Bay Hotel. There is a fairly good bus service into Lagos, 6kms away, and inexpensive taxis are readily available from a rank in Luz, so car hire is not really necessary.

The Vilabranca Apartments are lovely apartments on a quality and up market development on the pretty western side of Lagos. They are ideally situated to enjoy some of the prettiest beaches on the Algarve; Porto do Mos, Praia da Dona Ana, Camilo, Canavial and the 7km wide sandy beach of Meia Praia which has a full range of watersports on offer. The nearest beach is only 10 minutes walk away. There are also spectacular unspoilt, rural and cliff-top, coastal walks out to Ponta da Piedade with its caves and grottos. The historic town of Lagos with its famous pavement cafes, restaurants, shops, markets, nightlife and new marina is an easy 10 to 15 minute walk away, while just a short taxi ride takes you to 3 excellent golf courses and the lovely beaches of Luz Bay and the many secluded beaches out to the west. You could choose a different beach for every day of the week ! Car recommended but not essential.

The complex is about 10 minutes walk down to the centre of Luz, (a bit more on the way back!), with all its facilities and the glorious sandy beach which offers safe bathing and plenty of watersports from May to October. There is a lovely swimming pool surrounded by sunbathing terraces and lawns. A five minute drive takes you to the Burgau sports Centre where you can also enjoy free use of the swimming pool as well as the tennis courts and a full sports programme both for adults and children. The comfortable apartments are all individually owned and therefore furnished differently according to the owners taste. The accommodation is on two upper floors and offers excellent value for a family of four. Car hire recommended.

The historic town of Lagos is some six minutes drive away and has a vast range of restaurants to suit every taste. Palmares Golf Course, Boavista and Penina Golf Courses are a 5 to 25 minute drive away to the east, while Parque da Floresta Golf Course is a 20 minute drive to the west. For the children there are a variety of water parks and theme parks within a 30 minute drive. Horse riding stables are at Almadena, also just a short drive away. There is a fairly good bus service into Lagos, 6 kms away, and taxis are readily available from a rank in the village, so car hire is not necessary.
